About us
Woofy’s Pet Foods is full of history, in 1983, Mike & Kim Trimble opened Woofy’s Discount Pet Foods at 841 Cliffe Ave in Courtenay.
Woofy’s Comox (Store #2) was opened in June 1990, when Mike and Kim bought out a struggling Pet Food and Supplies store, Benji’s, located on Comox Ave. Sales were doubled in the first month! The size of this store was becoming an issue, so Mike and Kim increased the floor space by relocating the store to the Comox Mall in 2005. 5 years later, in 2010, Mike and Kim took over the lease from the video store beside Woofy’s and doubled the size of the Comox location!
Woofy’s Willow Point (Store #3) was opened in April of 1991 when Mike and Kim bought an existing pet store called Willow Point Pet Connection.
In September of 1995, Mike and Kim relocated Store #3 to a building across the street (an old lighting store) that also had a Vet Clinic. In March 2011, the Vet Clinic relocated and Woofy’s was expanded to include Winny’s Farm Feed.
Woofy’s Ryan Rd (Store #4) was opened in November 1997 to accommodate our customers on the other side of Courtenay.
As of 2013, Woofy’s Cliffe Ave offers the largest selection of raw, frozen foods North of Victoria.
2021 Mike & Kim decided it was time to retire, Woofy's Pet Food was then acquired by Mary Young, to become what is known today as Woofy's by Paw Street Market.
Much like the original Woofy's Pet Foods, Woofy's by Paw Street Market will take you back to the days when service, knowledge and community spirit were the keys to all successful retail businesses. Our passion is your pet’s well- being and we will endeavor to meet all your family’s needs with our diverse assortment of high quality foods and accessories.
